question about travel in Freeport in Bahamas. Thx in advance.

We're taking cruise to Freeport in Bahamas.  Pls help on below question:

We're interested in going to the Lucaya Market and nearby beach  after  arrival in the Freeport harbour.  The cruise company offers a paid program to take group activity and it is expensive.   I'm wondering if I can go by ourselves.  But I am not sure if there is any taxi or public transportation available at the Freeport harbour,  how far away from the harbour to the Lucaya beach/ market and how much for the taxi or other transportation.
