Yes, I am proud of being Chinese from mainland China

As immigrants, you need to learn the new shared values and common senses from the local while still keep your own identity. You are able to mingle with the locals but you can still tell them about your own chinese culture. You know how to repect your culture. Ansewr me this question, do you take vacations or try to get a day off on major chinese holidays? or try to claim your right? Have you leaned from other nations how they won their rights?

If you want to be a chinese american, not only just act like an american but also being proud of your chinese identity. that's the way how you can win respect.

I felt so insulted, when my white colleagues thought i came from hong kong after i told them i am chinese, other asians thought i was korean or japanese. why? because i wear in style, wash my teeth and bite chewing gums before a meeting, know too much about what the local know, sometimes even know more restaurants than my colleagues, I know where to go shopping for style.

Let's learn from other nations including koreans and japanese. Please get groomed before stepping out your door. Accept the fact we are behind and we need to learn. Don't be regonized so easily in a big shopping mall in a bad way. One thing I am so jealouse of Jewish people is they are so proud of their identity and they are so helpful to each other.
