From my memory, according to that article, for China, 38% of the GDP was from consumer spending (that is, 38% are relevent to the people), and for US, that number is about 80%, more than twice that for China.

China's GDP is mostly (that is, 62%) coming from useless acts such as tearing down something and rebuild it again.
