Principal Software Engineer – Presentation Technologies (首席系统软件开发/
架构工程师)

The Principal Software Engineer will be responsible for leading development
of sophisticated presentation technologies.  Deep knowledge on browser
execution environment and in-depth understanding of site-speed improvement
best practices are expected.  The successful candidate will be a top
performer and versatile professional leading the architecture, design,
development and implementation of eBay’s presentation technologies.  This
position will be based in Shanghai.

Responsibilities:
* Define, architect, design, troubleshoot, and debug comprehensive presentation layer for eBay site.
* Work with manager, engineers, product management, QA to design and implement features.
* Guide other engineers and help team members on design, troubleshooting of the product.
* Estimate engineering effort, plan execution cycles, and rollout system changes.
* Develop self and team’s industry knowledge and product technical expertise.
* Work closely with the other Product Development teams.

Requirements:
* BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline (or equivalent).
* A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
* 10+ years’ work experience in software development area with at least 5+ years’ experience in Web and JavaScript development.
* Deep knowledge on various browser execution environments and knowledge on site-speed improvements methodologies.
* In-depth programming expertise in JavaScript (Object-Oriented).
* Strong programming experience in Java (OO skills preferred).
* At least 5 years of software design and development experience in Web presentation layer development.
* Hands-on, and possesses mature debugging & troubleshooting skills for large web site or complex web pages.
* Strong communication skills and ability to communicate to various levels of Managers, Directors, VP, and Product Management teams.
* Fluent communication skills in Oral and Written English.
* Overseas Experience or Working Experience in Multi-national Company is a plus.
* Experience in JavaScript framework or various site-speed technologies is aplus.
* Experience in other presentation technologies such as Flash/Flex is a plus.

Principal Software Engineer – Web Application Framework (首席系统软件开发/架构工程师)

The Principal Software Engineer will be responsible for leading development
of robust high-volume platform framework.  While the framework is specific
to eBay, in-depth knowledge to J2EE Framework will greatly help gain
understanding to eBay technologies.  The successful candidate will be a top
performer and versatile professional leading the architecture, design,
development and implementation of system infrastructure at eBay. This
position will be based in Shanghai.

Responsibilities:
* Define, architect, design, troubleshoot, and debug complex, multi-tier distributed software applications on eBay platform.
* Work with manager, engineers, product management, QA and Operation team to design and implement application features.
* Guide other engineers and help team members on design, troubleshooting of the product.
* Estimate engineering effort, plan execution cycles, and rollout system changes.
* Develop self and team’s industry knowledge and product technical expertise.
* Work closely with the other Product Development teams.

Requirements:
* BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline (or equivalent).
* A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
* 10+ years’ work experience in software development area with at least 5+ years’ experience in Java programming.
* Extensive programming experience in Java and J2EE (strong OO skills preferred).
* In-depth knowledge to J2EE Framework, and in-depth understanding of 2 or more containers.
* At least 5 years of large systems software design and development experience. Good knowledge on performance and scalability.
* Hands-on, and Possesses Mature Debugging & troubleshooting skills in large software product.
* Strong communication skills and ability to communicate to various levels of Managers, Directors, VP, and Product Management teams.
* Fluent communication skills in Oral and Written English.
* Overseas Experience or Working Experience in Multi-national Company is a plus.
* Coding skills in JavaScript/AJAX, database design and SQL, and/or knowledge of XML and SOA/Web Service programming are a plus.

Principal Software Engineer – Eclipse Tooling (首席系统软件开发/架构工程师)

The Principal Software Engineer will be responsible for leading development
of sophisticated Eclipse development environment.  Hands-on knowledge to
Eclipse plugins development and familiar with Eclipse architecture is a must
.  The successful candidate will be a top performer and versatile
professional leading the architecture, design, development and
implementation of eBay’s desktop environment. This position will be based
in Shanghai.

Responsibilities:
* Define, architect, design, troubleshoot, and debug comprehensive Eclipse framework for eBay desktop environment.
* Work with manager, engineers, product management, QA to design and implement features.
* Guide other engineers and help team members on design, troubleshooting of the product.
* Estimate engineering effort, plan execution cycles, and release of the product.
* Develop self and team’s industry knowledge and product technical expertise.
* Work closely with the other Product Development teams.

Requirements:

various technology areas.  Candidate must be a hands-on technologist and
passionate about technologies.  The successful candidate will be a top
performer and versatile professional leading the definition, architecture,
and design on multiple eBay technologies.  This position will be based in
Shanghai.

Responsibilities:
* Define, architect, design, and troubleshoot one or more technologies as listed below.
* Work with manager, engineers, product management, QA to help execution of these technologies.
* Guide engineering teams on design, scoping and troubleshooting of different technologies.
* Estimate engineering effort, plan implementation and release of the product.
* Develop self and team’s industry knowledge and product technical expertise.
* Work closely with the other Product Development teams.

Requirements:
* Sharp, with clear mind on multiple technologies and where everything fit together.
* Hands-on, capable of drilling down to detailed code level to identify key issues.
* Passionate about technology.
* Ability to communicate to various levels of Managers, Directors, VP, and Product Management teams.
* BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
* A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
* Fluent communication skills in Oral and Written English.

Preferred Expertise:
* No hard requirement on work experience, while 10+ years’ software development experience with 5+ years’ Java experience is preferred.
