The school is No. 1 issue, specially for your elder child. You have to be hurray. These private schools accept applications from Jan and decision usually comes out in Apr. for fall admission. The bottom line is whether the school which children want to attend has space or not. You'd better email the request to them before the winter break.

I am sure children will have new friends. My elder one hated to move to new school at beginning when we relocated to Tokyo.
After 6 months he started to like his new school and have lots of friends. We lived in Tokyo for seven years. We love it. Every year our family enjoy a short trip to Japan and China.

It will be wonderful oversea experience for your family even it is hard at beginning.
