爱国主义 is not something you can force on people.

The only reason Americans love America is because they love themselves. Everything Americans own is positively linked to the country.

In China, if you accept the current definition of country, which is the same as the chinese communist party and its leaders and the current government officials, you can imagine why no one loves China.
