D—DAY!
Today marks 70 years since the D-Day landings in Normandy. More than 9,000 Allied soldiers were killed and countless others wounded on that day, but the invasion ultimately turned the tide of the war, leading to the Allied forces’ victory.
We too often forget to honor the sacrifices of those who came before us, but today presents a great opportunity for reflection on the courage of our World War II veterans and fallen service members. So let us remember the bravery and sacrifice of those who fought in the Second World War and appreciate the legacy of freedom that they left for us.
