2005 Aston Martin AMV8 Vantage

Unveiled at the North American International Auto Show 2003 in concept form, the Aston Martin AMV8 Vantage incorporates traditional Aston Martin styling cues, such as the shape of the front grille and the side strakes found on all Aston Martins. Joining the flagship Vanquish and the DB7 line, the AMV8 Vantage will be a two-seat sports car with a front mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout surrounded by a hand-built aluminum and carbon fiber chassis and body. The AMV8 Vantage will be powered by a state-of-the-art all-aluminum V8 specifically designed for the Vantage. The engine will be positioned ahead of the driver, but well back in the chassis. Combined with a rear-mounted 6-speed manual transaxle, the AMV8 Vantage achieves a nearly perfect 50/50 weight balance.
