I'm not an expert on this. The reason they called you is

that there is a business opportunity for them.  They want to sell an extended warranty which is kind of insurance.  Insurrance is designed to make money from average users.  I never bought and will not buy any extended warranty for anything.  For that, I consider insuring my purchases myself.

If money is not an issue, you can buy the extended warranty if that makes you sleep better.
