I agree in some extent. I don't think driving a Camry is any better than driving a Fusion or Malib for your face. Consumer report also test vehicles by themselves. That's why Tesla S got the highest rating! I think Cheap, Reliable, Fuel efficient are most important for Asia car buyers. They will buy luxury vehicles, but use them for weekend shopping or party ( that is face).
