Fortunately I was given an old Taurus by an elder relative.  The car overheats in stop-n-go traffic and I got stuck more than once.  Could not figure out why.  Sold real cheap.  My recommendation is not to buy overheating vehicles especially US models.  THere are too many possible causes and by the time you cured it you could've bought a different used car.
