HOUSTON – A woman is in the hospital after the car she was in slammed into a tree near the Galleria on Sunday.

Police said an SUV was traveling from the West Loop ramp onto Hidalgo around 2 a.m. when the driver lost control at a sharp curve in the road and slammed into a tree.

One of the female passengers was transported to Ben Taub in stable condition.

The condition of the driver was unknown.
