i tend to believe this kind of paid service is differnet then that in restaurant.  in formal restaurants, you pay 15-20% because tips is a main part of waiter/waitress's income (they are paid below minimum wage from the boss).  while paid service like AAA should not be subject to tips but sometimes people do pay them, not all. in most cases $2-3 is fine.   past is past, leave it behind.
