I had a co-worker owning a Forester (old 2000 model)

before. The engine started to leak motor oil around at 50,000 miles. Subara replaced the oil seal for free anyway even it's already out of the warranty. I don't know what happeded after that, I lost the contact with that person. But the oil leakage problem was quite true for the early Subaru cars.
