Did you get 13.7v when the car is idle?

Have you tried w/ higher engine RPM like 2000~2500? What is the voltage reading then? If you get higher voltage reading, it might just mean your alternator is a bit weak, but not bad.

If this is the case, you need to buy a battery charger, which is much cheaper than another alternator.
