if you want change CV boot, the axle has to be come out.
Yes, it is only a c - clip on the inner board.
if you can bring car high enough. you can use a pry bar to pry it out. or hammer it out. it won't break but, don't try pull it out by holding the axle that will damage the inner joint. good luck
