March 4 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. National Highway Traffic
Safety Administration said it has received more than 60
complaints from owners of Toyota Motor Corp. vehicles who report
they have still experienced sudden unintended acceleration after
having their vehicle repaired by a Toyota dealer.
If it appears Toyota’s remedies aren’t addressing the
problems they were intended to fix, NHTSA has the authority to
order Toyota to provide a different solution, the agency said in
an e-mailed statement.
“We are determined to get to the bottom of this,” David
Strickland, administrator of the auto safety agency, said in the
statement.
