I had a similiar case several months ago.
I drove straight forward, and other driver tried an u-turn. At that location, there is no stop sign, and no light. That car hit my rear-left end. The driver also said somebody gave her an OK signal to turn. Her insurance company decided very quick to say it's her fault.
