申请probation is a better option

You've said your options yourself for not having 不良记录:
1. 申请probation
2. 申请NOT guilty

If I were you, I would choose option 1, 申请probation so the ticket will not on your record, no points, and not impacting your insurance premium. Just be sure to be a good driver(no more tickets) during the probation period(you need to check w/ county court clerk how long the probation period is).

Option 2(申请NOT guilty) would be tough to fight against the police at the court.
