Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup identified the victim as Yingbo Zhou
, 26, a graduate student at the University of Illinois from China.

In custody at the Champaign County jail is David L. McClain, 27, of Savoy.
State police Sgt. Bill Emery said McClain is expected to be charged with
reckless homicide and leaving the scene of a fatal accident.
McClain was arrested shortly after 2 p.m. Tuesday in Urbana. Police had been
looking for him since midnight Monday when his Cadillac Escalade was
reported to have been involved in a crash with a Honda Civic on I-74 between
Lincoln Avenue and Neil Street that left Ms. Zhou dead and four others
injured, one critically.
Champaign County court records show that McClain has a long history of
traffic violations and is currently charged with driving under suspension
and operating an uninsured vehicle stemming from an arrest in Urbana in
October.
Emery said Ms. Zhou was a passenger in the car and was pronounced dead at
Carle Foundation Hospital at 12:42 a.m. Tuesday. Police have not yet
released the names of the other two men and two women but Emery described
them as international students.
