The car is great, getting 28-35mpg. But its price is too high. Not sure where you are, you may be able to find one around 100kmi price below $8k (for a diesel engine, 60kmi or 100kmi is no real difference - its life expectancy is 500kmi).

96' and 97' E300 doesn't have a turbo, you can feel it's under powered when starting from green light or climbing hills. 98' and 99' is the same car but with a turbo and 5 gear transmission (vs. 4 gears), pick-up is much better. If you can find one with a turbo, below $10k, it'll be a good selection.
