Subaru's transfer case?

To me, Subaru is AWD, so it does not have 2 speed transfer case and no 4L mode.

But my guess is it still has a transfer case to
distribute torque between front and rear wheel.

Or maybe it is using some electronically controlled
center differential to do the transfer case work?
