I agree completely

If one can handle the loss, don't buy insurance. In a way,
buy insurance is gambling. It is a bet against yourself because you "win" only if bad thing happens.
Therefore all the efforts you put to reduce risk doesn't
benefit you (may be reduce your future premium).
