It is hard to do. I did that about 4 years ago for a friend. It is a Lexus IS300 wagon. We did a change of responsibility so the other party will take over the remaining 28 payments.

1. Lexus finance has to qualify the new client.
2. New Client has to willing to take over the terms.
3. You need have a good terms to attract people.
4. You need pay some $$$ out to the new guy. My friend gave him $1500.
5. You are right, most those are scams.
