Toyota is one of few companies shrewed on marketing - they want to give people an impression that their cars are superb and maintenance is LOW. Think about this - in common sense, and as a normal practice, oil is recommended to be changed at 3000mi interval, but, if you look closely at Toyota's manual, it says oil be changed every 7500 miles, and 5000 miles if in severe condition (very subjective here). If you do that way, you will experience "oil gelling", ruining your engine (are you aware of Toyota's "Oil Gelling"? If not google "toyota oil gelling").

From this point, I'd give credit to Honda for their honest, safeguard consumers' investment.

I have no bias toward any brand, but keepping alert eyes and realizing their tricks will help you in long run.
