I'm glad we've reached agreement in the "real world" situation. As to your ideal CVT goal, I think it's a good one worth auto companies' efforts, at least in terms of improving on today's CVTs. I guess I'm more pessimistic than you about achieving an infinite ratio with no extra decay in efficiency, just from first principles on diminishing returns...
