in the real world, at the end of the day, money talks. if not, then econ theory should not exist at all. innovation is not always tied up with the success in the market place, at the same time, you might find jap car companies might be more innovative than the perception being portrayed here.

on the other hand, big three is not just experiencing mgt problem at this moment as bonbon claimed. he asked this question, With your money, do you want to reward efficiency in management but mediocrity in innovation, or do you want to reward innovation and give the innovators a chance to sort out their management? I would say consumer would vote with their own wallet. consumers might look at their own wallets much more often than being noble. otherwise, walmart's success would never have happened:)
