it is malibu basic not classic

means I4 engine. My suggestion is go to both Toyota and Chevy dealers check what is the best price you can get. Personally, I think Malibu LS (V6) is better than Camry LE(I4). The price of Malibu should be close, if not cheaper than Camry.

I also heard that the brake of Malibu is below average(136ft @ 60m?) but from the experience of mine (MAXX LS 8000 miles on it now), I couldn't feel the difference. Maybe I haven't met any emergency situation yet:-).

Also, MAXX is also a pretty good option that you can consider for a family car. Have you ever consider Sonata?

Bottom line, go to dealers and test drive them.
