Not sure whether the trick can work elsewhere. I thought the
Indian is just "double-checking".
So why can't he simply say," You do your homework first and I will double check for you. I can show you a few times, if you can't get the way after the first time. Then you will be back on your own."
Then the Indian can show off his supervisoring status and also get away from too much additional work.
If everything runs smoothly later, he can take the credits becuase he teaches well. Otherwise, it's not his fault because he showed the other guy a few times already. If he can't get it, it's his problem.
