My parents did the same thing. They were here in Australia while I submitted the application (subclass 143) to Perth Parent Visa Center. The application was returned(not rejected) by them.

As you might be aware of, there is a condition in your parent visitor's visa - "No Further Stay". Under this condition, they won't be able to obtain bridge visa.
