The attack occurred around 5:12 p.m. local time at Malmö Latin School, in Malmö, the countries third-largest city which is connected to Copenhagen, Denmark by a bridge.

Police responded about 10 minutes later and took the suspect into custody. According to news outlet Aftonbladet, the suspect was found near the teachers with a knife and an axe.

The teacher, both women in their 50s, were rushed to a hospital but died from their injuries.
