早报:德约科维奇提起诉讼 被拒入境原因浮出水面
世界排名第一的男子网球选手德约科维奇被拒入境的消息成为全球各大媒体关注的新闻。
最新的情况是德约科维奇的律师团队已经向联邦巡回法院(Federal Circuit Court,FCC)提起诉讼,对澳大利亚边境执法局(Australian Border Force,ABF)取消其签证禁止其入境做出裁决。
法院将于下周一(1月10日)开庭审理,要求在这之前双方提交证据。期间德约科维奇将继续待在墨尔本一家作为移民拘押中心的酒店。
德约科维奇的父亲在塞尔维亚首都贝尔格莱德(Belgrade)召开新闻发布会,称澳大利亚此举有政治动机,指责莫里森胆敢攻击德约科维奇,想要让塞尔维亚屈服。
焦点:医疗豁免能否成为入境理由
撇除德约科维奇公开反对接种疫苗,且拒绝公开他的疫苗接种情况不说,从技术层面看,既然他拿到了签证,又怎么会不允许他入境呢?
就目前已知的信息看,即使他获得了签证,ABF还是有权在他抵达的时候进一步审核他是否符合入境规定。
而这件事可能涉及澳大利亚联邦与维州政府互相“踢皮球”,其焦点就在于那份医疗豁免(medical exemption)。
由于德约科维奇一直拒绝公开自己是否已经接种疫苗,而维州政府则坚持所有参赛选手和工作人员必须完全接种,除非获得医疗豁免。
所以获得医疗豁免是德约科维奇参加澳网的唯一途径。德约科维奇申请医疗豁免的理由是在过去六个月感染过新冠。
据悉,维州两个独立的医疗小组评估了共26份医疗豁免,其中包括德约科维奇的,而在评估的过程中,专家小组并不知道被评估人是谁。
据政府消息来源称,德约科维奇向ABF官员递交了信头是澳大利亚网球协会(Tennis Australia )的医疗豁免,落款签名是澳大利亚网球协会的首席医疗官。
