本周三(11月10日),美国总统拜登在白宫会见欧盟委员会主席乌尔苏拉?冯德莱恩(Ursula von der Leyen),讨论关于COVID-19、气候和外交事务等议题。会晤后,冯德莱恩宣布将对白俄罗斯实施制裁。
拜登和冯德莱恩均出席了在罗马举行的G20峰会,以及在英国格拉斯哥举行的联合国气候峰会。
冯德莱恩在和拜登会晤后表示,欧盟将在下周扩大对白俄罗斯的制裁,针对个人和实体。她说,白俄罗斯和波兰边境的局势不是移民危机,而是明斯克“专制政权”企图破坏邻国稳定。
她表示,欧盟计划针对大约30名白俄罗斯人实施制裁,包括外交部长和白俄罗斯航空公司Belavia在内的个人和实体。
欧盟和北约指责白俄总统亚历山大?卢卡申科(Alexander Lukashenko)利用移民当武器,将从逃离中东的移民送到明斯克,然后再到波兰和波罗的海国家边界??,以此向西方施压。
卢卡申科及其盟友俄罗斯的总统弗拉基米尔·普京将责任归咎于欧盟。
冯德莱恩说,她知道美国已经准备好对白俄罗斯实施制裁,该制裁将于12月初生效。
“我们将研究制裁那些帮助向明斯克和欧盟-白俄罗斯边境贩卖人口的航空公司可能性。”她说。
在会晤前,白宫表示,两位领导人将通过美欧联合贸易和技术委员会讨论经济合作的“道路规则”、全球变暖,以及乌克兰、西巴尔干地区等地区问题。
白宫发言人艾米莉?霍恩(Emily Horne)在一份声明中说:“拜登总统将重申他对欧盟作为美国基本伙伴的支持。”
冯德莱恩还表示,与拜登的会晤非常富有成效,今天关注的包括大流行病在内的国际问题,与拜登讨论了基础设施建设问题。
