We’ve seen this before; the market tanks and then recovers. Yet, this game Trump is playing with China is one that should’ve started years ago, though the potential for economic pain was high. Short-term pain for long-term gain is the playbooks it would seem, though the president should know, as he already does, that he’s messing with his re-election chances if he screws this up, along with giving China the ultimate high ground concerning our diplomatic and economic efforts between our two nations.

The stock market is what drives the import business. They like the cheap products. Every time I say this, I get hammered, but the stock market is in no way American friendly and never has been. It is driven by greed at the expense of the American worker. Look what happened when Trump announced the tariffs. The market took a dive. That happens every time
We have been buying cheap products from China for years because there were no tariffs. American manufactors could not compete with the Chinese and that's why almost everything you buy is made in China, Mexico or anyplace where there was little or no tariffs.
Adding tariffs on Chinese products may make the price go up some, but it will also made American made products more competitive, price wise. People will begin to buy more American made products which may result in more jobs, with more money in the coffers in the long run. China does not buy that many American made products, because we could not compete, price wise with their products.
President Trump understands this and America will see the benefits before long.. This is something that should have been done decades ago, but the people we had running the country were polititicans, not business people and knew nothing about something like this.
Is there any one of the people running for President on the Democrat side have any idea how to run this country? Not a clue. If any of them are elected, this country is doomed.
