MIT Media Lab leader resigns over Lab's ties to Epstein

MIT Media Lab's 'civic justice' leader resigns over the research center's ties to Jeffrey Epstein following revelations that the disgraced financier donated at least $200,000 to the university:
 

• Ethan Zuckerman announced he is resigning as Media Lab's director of Center for Civic Media at Massachusetts Institute of Technology last week
• He said Media Lab director Joi Ito failed to disclose funding from Epstein
• Zuckerman's resignation came days after Epstein died of an apparent suicide in his Manhattan jail cell while awaiting trial for sexually abusing underage girls
• Ito has apologized for accepting money from the disgraced financier 
• Epstein built a reputation as a 'science philanthropist' by donating money to leading researchers, including some at MIT and Harvard
