据说AO在初审阶段重要，但只会淘汰一半申请人。但committee会投票决定淘汰大部分的人。

每次投票前，dean都会和他们开会，主要是instruction，相当于法官给陪审团的指导。committee最终只会通过AO名单上的一小部分申请人。
