猫圆圆美美，不否认SSI是退休收入的一部分，如果能拿到六万SSI的老中要靠这六万过退休日子，那就有问题了？

If a couple can collect $60k SSI when they reach the age of 66 in 2018 and this $60k is main part of their retirement income, there is something very wrong with this couple.  

To collect this $60k SSI in 2018, the couple need to work about 25 to 30 years with a combined salary over $200k.  The past 30 years from 1988 to 2018, we have two longest bull markets in the US history.  That couple should have retirement saving of 401(k), 403(b), etc from their work.  After 30 years, they should have their saving plus investment return at least around 2 to 3 million.
