Nigeria is undergoing great change right now. Once a stronghold of Islam, Christianity is spreading like a fire throughout that nation. As a result, it has provoked the wrath of Muslim terrorists who have been committing horrible atrocities. In a recent and new low, Muslim terrorist are now starting to use mothers carrying babies as suicide bombers: ? An attack in the town of Madagali on 13 January saw two women detonate their devices, killing themselves, two babies, and four others.
They had passed a vigilante checkpoint, mistaken for civilians because they were carrying infants.
Female attackers have been seen before, but officials said the use of babies could signal a “dangerous” trend.
The insurgent group Boko Haram is widely suspected of having carried out the attack.
In an Islamic context, one can argue there is nothing wrong with what these women are doing per Islamic standards. As long as their actions are being done “for the cause of Allah” as the final end, it warrants whatever means are used. To paraphrase the infamous 15th century Italian political philosopher Niccolo Machiavelli, “the ends justify the means.”
