- Appointments were given to numerous other White House officials, including Sarah Hurwitz, a speechwriter for Michelle Obama
- Avril Haines, Obama's deputy national security advisor, was given membership of the National Commission on Military, National, and Public Service
- 17 appointments need Senate okay - including Todd Phillip Haskell as Congo ambassador and Jason Kearns as member of the International Trade Commission
