Obama's parting gift to his cronies - federal jobs: Outgoing president puts more than 100 aides and close friends in government posts just days before he leaves office 

• Since January 1, Obama has made over 100 appointments to the Senate and other federal government jobs
• Top aides Susan Rice and Valerie Jarrett were named to Kennedy Center's board of trustees, while Ben Rhodes was appointed to Holocaust Memorial Council 
• Obama also appointed NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to the President's Council on Fitness, Sports, and Nutrition 
• Appointments were given to numerous other White House officials, including Sarah Hurwitz, a speechwriter for Michelle Obama
• Avril Haines, Obama's deputy national security advisor, was given membership of the National Commission on Military, National, and Public Service 
• 17 appointments need Senate okay - including Todd Phillip Haskell as Congo ambassador and Jason Kearns as member of the International Trade Commission
