How about the hundreds of coal plants opened in the last few years bellowing pollution far greater than any other country? The people need to be educated about why these things are not medicinal and how supporting illegal poaching is destroying our world ???????? this should come from their government. 　　央广网上海12月27日消息（记者吴善阳通讯员曾姝）上海海关今天通报，近日查获一起特大货运渠道走私进口珍贵动物制品案，抓获犯罪嫌疑人3名，查获穿山甲鳞片逾3吨。这是目前中国海关查获的最大一起穿山甲鳞片走私案。

　　12月10日，上海海关根据线索进行风险布控，对一个从非洲进口的集装箱实施过机检查。这批货物申报品名为“缅茄木方料”，过机时的图像显示箱内物品质地不均匀，有夹藏嫌疑。海关工作人员决定开箱查验，打开集装箱后发现，前部为木料，后部夹藏有大量以编织袋包装的疑似穿山甲鳞片。经清点鉴定，确认为穿山甲鳞片101包、约3.1吨。目前，该案仍在进一步侦办中。

　　据濒危动植物保护专家介绍，一只穿山甲身上约有0.4—0.6公斤鳞片，走私3吨鳞片意味着约有5000—7500只穿山甲因此被残忍杀害。而在调查过程中海关缉私警察发现，该案嫌疑人从2015年开始在非洲收购穿山甲鳞片，通过当地人协助夹藏装箱运送至国内，这意味着已有更大数量的穿山甲因为这些走私分子而遭劫。

　　自1994年起，所有种类的穿山甲都被列入《濒危野生动植物种国际贸易公约》（CIETS公约）附录Ⅱ，被认为是全球受到非法贸易威胁最严重的哺乳类动物。今年10月初，CIETS缔约国大会已通过“所有八种穿山甲物种提升至附录Ⅰ”的提案，全球穿山甲将得到最高级别保护，禁止一切国际贸易。
