Pamela Anderson will be on cover of last nude ‘Playboy’
Pamela Anderson will be on the cover of the last issue of Playboy magazine to feature nudity, the company said Thursday.
Anderson, 48, will be on the cover of a January/February double issue, with the March issue to feature no nudes, according to Playboy Enterprises. It will be the 14th cover for Anderson, a record for the long-running magazine.
“To close out this era in the magazine’s history, it only made sense to put the most famous Playmate in Playboy history on the cover,” according to an article on the magazine’s website. Actor James Franco interviewed Anderson for the issue, the company said.
Anderson will appear nude in the magazine, the company said.
Playboy earlier this year said it would stop running photos of fully nude women, with officials noting that the Internet has made racy material easy to find elsewhere. In future issues, according to Playboy, photos of an adult nature will be “PG-13.”
The magazine’s circulation has fallen significantly since its heyday, to about 800,000 from 5.6 million in 1975. The first-ever issue, in December 1953, featured Marilyn Monroe on the cover and sold more than 50,000 copies.
