the 10 to 15 seconds flames maybe the engin fire seen while

the plan was making turning

ABC reporter Bob Woodruff tweeted an image of a letter that has been sent by rigger Michael McKay saying he saw a plane burning "at altitude".

"I believe I saw the Malaysian Airlines plane come down. The timing is right," he said.

"I tried to contact the Malaysian and Vietnam officials several days ago. But I do not know if the message has been received."

McKay said he was working on oil rig at Songa Mercur, south east of Vietnam.

From when I first saw the burning (plane) until the flames went out (still at high altitude) was 10 to 15 seconds," he wrote.

"There was no lateral movement, so it was either coming toward our location, stationary (falling), or going away from our location."
