I nurse my daughter to sleep. Here is a blog that support it and I agree with the majority of the opinoin in it. Mother nature designs it that way, why go against nature?

I also don't think you should worry about your son being "mommy's boy" by co-sleeping with him. That is what our parents do when we grew up because there were not many rooms and beds to sleep separately back then.
