I asked earlier when is the good time to mail out I-539 application.  Should I mail it out before the end of my last day at work, or can i wait until the severance package ends?

-Technically, you should mail out the application before/when you are laid off, but practically, it may be OK to mail it out before the severance package ends if they employer does not inform USCIS to terminate your H1 yet.

Also, I am not living in the same state where my school is. Which uscis office should i submit my i-539?
