effect.  I do not believe that they CHOSE to go to Taiwan is due to money and women, as you suggested (Do you have any evidence that's the major reason for these over 14,000 soldiers?).  They made a very difficult choice (and turned out to be a correct one) to leave their hometown and family behind (maybe forever).    I
