Correct one is that 1976年，中国人均寿命65岁，and it increased to 72 years (7 years) in 30 years. Which is an incredible achievement!
Comparison w/ the world average is fair, as you lump all the countries, including those boiled in the wars. Should compare it to the countries in peace. By the same token, compare the longevity during the peace time (1949-present) to war time (1911-1949) is also false.
MANY factors need to be considered in make the comparisons, including living standards, health care and medicinal technology advancement (and availability) etc.
