First of all, if parents anticipate the challenges their kids will be facing when they first go to school, why don't they do something early on to help the kids to minimize the impact? For example, instead of keeping them home in a mono-cultural environment till Kindergarden, they should have sent the kids to pre-school or daycare much sooner to immerse in a multi-cultural learning environment. Or the least you can do is to teach them English, so they can communicate with their peers.
A friend of mine kept her daugher at home with the grandparents till Kindergarden, the girl didn't speak English at all and was seriously challenged in school, both socially and academically. Till this day, although she is in junior high and obviously can speak English well, she is still somewhat socially impaired.
Speaking of language issues, "作为英语不是母语的族裔来说,孩子开始上幼儿园就会遇到语言问题。" I don't agree with this statement. English may not be your first language, but for kids born and raised in this country, English is their first language. This is not an option. Their parents' language can only be their second language, like it or not.
A lot of Chinese parents arbitrarily consider their children "Chinese", without knowing this way of thinking could impose a lot of challenges and even damages in their future lives. The moment we decide to raise our children here in this country, we should recognize that they are Chinese Americans and maybe that would save a lot of struggles and battles.
