If you (green card holder) sponsor him green card 2 years later, it still takes about 3 years for the priority date to be current for him to get the immigration visa. So, totally it may take 5 year or more for him to get the green card. So, if he “黑” and if he is not qualified for the immigration visa application before he turns 18 years old, he needs to leave US and wait in China for the priority date to be current to apply for the immigration visa in China.
