I know I can work. But HR said that my salary cannot be increased until getting approval from USCIS.

Is their saying true?

-Absolutely not true. But if your Human Resources insist that, you may ask them to use premium processing to get the H1 amendament approved in 15 days because you can not do anything with this kind of stupid people.
