My answer is No. Because Japan is way stronger than Portugal(?), Tokyo is not Li*****en. Second, the damage caused by March 11 earthquake and related tsunami is nil, about 20 to 30 billion dollars US, accounting for only 1/20 of Japanese GDP. Thirdly, Japan has extemely hard working people and way better capacity in innovation of research and development, so that it will recover very quickly from this disater. Japan has aslo received supports from US, China, and other countries.
My conclusion is that Japan will be still powerful, and most likely becoming stronger because of this devastating loss of life and properties. China is surely requred to learn a lot for its counterpart Japan.
